A love affair

If you are in St. Moritz before the winter season ends, stop by the gallery Hauser & Wirth. You can have a wonderful vin chaud and a bratwurst, and you can also head up to the first and second floors to visit the most wonderful Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibition, his first solo show dedicated to the paintings inspired by and created in Switzerland.

Basquiat’s love affair with Switzerland, particularly with the Engadin, began in 1982 with his first exhibition at Galerie Bruno Bischofberger in Zurich. His fascination with the Engadin region resulted in works that capture impressions of the Swiss Alpine landscape and culture.
